Fort Logan South Local Center

Share your thoughts on local retail options in Fort Logan South!

Neighborhood plans provide an opportunity to offer guidance what areas should look like if they redevelop. If the area around W Quincy Ave and S Lowell Blvd were to redevelop at some point in the next twenty years, which of the options below would you prefer that it look like? Your input will help inform the Far Southwest Area Plan. You can read and comment on the plan in its entirety or visit the project webpage for more information.

Definitely B. We want a development whose character is defined by the architecture and site plan/amenities not by parking lots.
Agree. This area needs to be allowed to evolve. Walk to a restaurant! Love it.
Suggestion
Do NOT want to see anymore multi-family units at that intersection. It's already crowded enough and there don't appear to be any current plans to widen the road
Suggestion
Do not currently experience any physical barrier walking at the intersection and along the current shopping center at Quincy & Lowell
Suggestion
Although image B is more aesthetically pleasing, image A is preferred from a safety perspective. The buildings in image B would overshadow Quincy Avenue and in the winter time cause the road to be icy and slick. In addition, the buildings would create a blind spot at the intersection of Quincy & Lowell, causing more accidents than currently exist.
Suggestion
I agree with the comment about Option B being more visually appealing as long as the buildings don’t prevent snow melt on the sidewalks.
Suggestion
Getting rid of this affordable housing (pink dashes) goes against Unlocking Housing Choices.
Suggestion
Don't change the primarily residential area to commercial (pink dashes) (x5).
Suggestion
Please no upzoning.
Suggestion
Develop commercial with housing above it starting on the second floor.
Suggestion
I have concerns that any additional development would increase property values and taxes for nearby residents. It would also bring additional traffic to the area.
Suggestion
Image A means parking is located further away from residential areas, which is a plus.
Suggestion
I prefer Image A (x6).
Suggestion
I like B more than A if buildings were set back a little more. I have concerns that shadows from buildings in the winter would prevent ice and snow from melting, and buildings too close to the sidewalk would obstruct sight lines at the intersection, making it unsafe.
Suggestion
Visually B is more appealing. Are there considerations for winter weather on Quincy that make it more safe?
